Methodology
Management & Coordination
Our project management approach relies on a five-part philosophy that we have found through experience results in the highest quality of project delivery:
- Start projects right
- Build critical consensus
- Enable “bifocal” decision making
- Maintain effective team communications
- Establish appropriate contingencies
Quality Assurance
MAA has carefully developed, documented quality management system (QMS) that is used on all projects so that each will conform to the highest standards of excellence, efficiency, reliability and safety, and cost effectiveness. This system is administered by the Quality Manager, who is responsible for internal recorded audits of the production-level activities of each project team.
Cost Control
Cost control is the function of the whole project team; and sharing this objective is critical to success.
First, an environment needs to be created within which, a successful outcome can be defined and then achieved. In this, the client has a critical role to play, and the necessary pre-conditions to such success are:
- A clear set of realistic objectives, suited to the purposes of the client;
- The assembly of a team of people with the experience, skills and instincts necessary to meet those objectives;
- The establishment of an effective management and procurement regime, with clear lines of authority, responsibility and communication between all of those involved.
To these, and embracing all three, there can be added a fourth – the stimulation of an appropriate project culture, built on realism rather than unfeasible expectation; teamwork rather than egocentricity; mutual accountability rather than a cycle of default and blame; co-operation rather than confrontation; and, throughout, a concentration on the positive and on the celebration of success. This in turn calls for leadership – and strong Client and Project Management leadership in particular
